Recreation

GolfingGolf, tennis, hiking, biking, picnicking and water sports … The Great Lakes of Georgia have it all. Golf resorts and public courses provide a diverse range of golf choices. Tennis at state parks or county recreation facilities, Frisbee golf, miniature golf and biking complement fishing, swimming, boating, sailing, paddleboats and other water sports.

Georgia's Great Lakes are excellent for wildlife viewing, exploring nature and hiking – from flat trails to challenging mountain sides. Hike Providence Canyon State Park near Walter F. George Lake in west Georgia with its colorful canyon walls. Explore waterfalls and mountain trails near Hartwell Lake in the northern part of the state. Richard B. Russell Lake offers swimming, rowing and miles of hiking trails. Lake Seminole's swamp-like environment features intriguing wildlife habitats with alligators and birds.

Other recreational activities include jet-skiing, waterskiing, canoeing, power boating and picnicking. The Great Lakes of Georgia offer a recreational paradise all year long.
