Authorized
by Congress in 1946, construction on Lake Seminole began the following
year. It is the result of the damming of the Chattahoochee and Flint
rivers. Ten years later the lake opened.
Today, it attracts nearly six million visitors to the southwest
corner of Georgia, visitors
who enjoy its rustic scenery that offers a wide selection of wildlife.
